    Hi –

We pretty much follow the same format as Gabrielle. If our residents attend a mission that is not sponsored by our program, they have to use PTO.

    Hi Tammy,

    Here’s our policy.

Resident Travel Policy for Podium and Paper Presentations:

    • Establish budget – $1500 (i.e. airfare/hotel/registration/food/etc.)
    • One meeting presentation per project – in the event that abstract is accepted to multiple meetings, the resident is to decide what he/she will present, and the faculty will present at the remaining meetings.
    • Resident will travel the day before and the day after presentation(s). They are not required to attend the entire meeting.

Journal Club – our monthly budget is $500. JC is held at a faculty member’s home, and they are reimbursed for both food and alcohol. Anything over $500, they pay for out of pocket.

    Melissa,

In the conference book, there is a 1-page agenda for the entire conference that you can use.

    Hi –

As we all know, orthopaedics is very competitive. My guess is that they were told to have a back-up plan?

I had one MD student that matched into anesthesia and everyone one else ortho. So, nothing unusual for us.

    Hello everyone – happy Friday!

Just a reminder, if you have not emailed your list of residents/fellows to Michael Gagnon at AOC, please take a minute to do this.

There are a lot of great resources for trainees on this site…business of medicine education, navigating job search, education on employment contract and negotiation, and so much more! Membership is free!

We hope to do a virtual session in January with AOC to learn more about this great platform!

    Hello,

Have you thought about using the timeline…. Year in The Life of the Ortho Residency? It can be found under the Resources tab in the New Coordinator file.

I’m not really sure there is a time frame for how long you need to keep records of these items.  I would scan and keep all the score reports at a minimum.

    Hi Michelle,

Are they scores/reports or just communications about the OITE?

I agree with what Michelle has offered for language used in ERAS.
