I had to check, we only have about 3% of applicants that do not have step 2.  That is not something I usually track so I am not sure if that is normal for us.  I usually only look at applicants that have scores.  I did get contacted by one of the schools that an applicants Step 2 CK examination is currently under formal review following documented testing-center disruptions.  I just checked and their scores are still not posted.  I am not sure if that testing center disruptions were widespread or not.

We received about 14% fewer applications this year but only about 7% fewer signals.

Our University recently changed our titles to include GME in them.  We have GME Coordinator (with different level numbers), Manger of GME Programs and Director of GME Programs.  I was not a fan of the titles they chose but oddly enough it came it pay increases.  So far there has not been a move to move us under GME.  That was a big fear of mine but luckily our GME office doesn’t seem to want to do that.  I plan to share my concerns with ACGME in response to the title change too.

My school enters each individual elective experience.  We struggle with applicants applying to every single rotation elective and multiple dates ranges so we can get 30 applications for 1 medical student.  If they didn’t apply for one that I have available we have to ask them to submit another application and I have had complaints about the cost.  It would be so much easier to get my school just to enter a month long Ortho experience so that I have flexibility as to which services I can assign them to.  Has anyone had experience in getting their schools to change the way the list things in VSLO?

Our  PGY5s are all considered Chief residents.  We issue them a separate diploma for their chief year too.  Only one of them receives an additional stipend as they are voted on as our administrative chief.

We do a social the night before at a bar for the applicants and residents.  We also only serve apps and drinks.

Yes, I was nervous too but from what I read it won’t count until the class of 2027.

Same as others, we send out notifications to everyone on 11/18.  It definitely cuts down on people asking about things and CORD recommends that too.

Sorry you are having issues.  I have 5 taking it today but I haven’t had any major issues yet.  Just one that was having trouble getting into the test but he redownloaded the browser and that seemed to work.
