3. $650 for early bird registration by Oct. 31, $700 for standard rate and $750 for late registrations (Dec. 1-Dec. 31)

4. No additional fees except there is a separate registration and fee for the CORD conference.

We cover everything – Step 3 (first attempt only), Loupes, Lead Glasses, and Lead.  Each resident gets to attend one conference per year fully funded (it’s determined by us which ones).  AO Basics is the one we send our interns to.  Thanks!

I just clicked on “more details” for each resident and then hit “print” and instead of printing, I changed it to save as PDF. That worked well for me.

I was surprised that wasn’t an option this year as well.

I just asked Sonya Parker at ABOS if I needed to send a letter reporting a maternity leave or just report via RRA forms since I also have a resident on maternity leave and I didn’t think about a letter. This was her response:

“Please report through the RRA forms, if the resident will not complete their education with their graduating class, we do require a letter indicating the remediation plan for the resident to complete their education. If they are going to be a late graduate or make up additional time other than through averaging PGY-2–PGY-5, we will need a letter.”

So it sounds like if they don’t need to make up time, you just report what they’ve done via RRA Forms. I plan to indicate that she was on a LOA in the comments.  I hope this helps.

We do not require a chair letter and in case other programs do, we often just say our PD letter is a joint letter with the Chair to cover those students that may need it.

Have you considered using the AOA recommended Electronic Standardized Letter of Recommendation? That might make it easier for the letter writers.

We will be doing virtual interviews again for residency.  It’s more cost effective for both the program and the students.

We get large, 18″x16″ plaques made with pictures of x-rays (they choose the case(s))  – it’s usually a case they are proud of or something they learned from – it’s really whatever they want it to be.  It includes an inscription/words of wisdom from our Chairman and Program Director and it includes their names/dates or residency on it.
