    Hi Jessica,

We use OrthoBullets to evaluate our residents for procedures, medical knowledge, patient care, and professionalism.  It populates a Milestones Evaluation for the residents that we use during our CCC meetings to complete that ACGME requirement.  It is very turnkey for us, and puts the residents in charge of their own accomplishments since they complete tests/questions and work with faculty to assess them as they progress in the OR, etc.

Trying not to sound like an Infomercial, but this has worked well for us! 🙂

    Hi Maria Claudia,

We have goals for each of our faculty (5, but I could only upload 4 files) so take a look and change it up to suit your needs.

Let me know if you need anything else!

Congratulations to Everyone!!!  Our world is forever changing, but not as much as this year!  On to the Fellowship Match, which has seemed surprisingly easier now that I know how to ZOOM!!!

    Hi Amanda,

You can offer rotations but you should be clear to the medical students rotating that you do not know the status of your program at this time.  Rotations are also for the medical students to gain knowledge and experience through your residency.  If you obtain ACGME accreditation between now and the match you should be able to put in a rank order list.  The students that rotated will then know your program and that will be a good thing for the students as well as your program.

    Hope this helps!

Yes, I have to agree with Kim, Zoe.  Having a chief resident help the new PGY1, is how we have always completed this training, as well.  This way, if anything has been updated in the process, the upper level resident will be the first to know about it and can pass it on.  The PGY1s also have someone to go to if they have questions later.

Hope this was a help to you!  I wonder if anyone else has another process?

Maybe I shouldn’t stay this, but I didn’t have any trouble accessing the website. I am using Mozilla Fire Fox, that may be the difference? I am not all that jazzed about the new format, however. I hope it gets straightened out soon! Best wishes, ALL!

    Hey Melissa,
The site visitor will send you a list of what they want to see. I have attached a portion of our letter that would pertain to you. They won’t ask you for OITE. I did ask the site visitor if I could keep all the documents electronically in a specific file folder. She agreed, as long as I could print any hard copies she wanted. We were able to view the documents together via our conference room TV. This was so much easier than putting together the old binders.

The evaluations they requested were just blank samples of all your evaluations. Make sure the Resident Evaluation of Faculty and Rotation completely anonymous – even from you. I know, I thought, how will I know who completed the evaluations and who didn’t? But they want to make sure the residents feel free to be honest in the evaluations. If I remember correctly, she wanted to see what vehicle we use for evaluations and how they are distributed, etc. We used New Innovations.

Since you are a pack rat, like me, you should be in good shape once the letter arrives.
This is just my experience, I hope we hear from others!

    You got this!!

    Hi Christine,
I have not heard about this. Is this just like you might give them “swag” with their interview info at the interview? Forgive me for my ignorance but can you explain further?
    Thanks,

We use institutional DEA. Some PGY5 will be getting their own DEA to begin fellowship, they have to pay for that on their own or get reimbursed by their fellowship.

Andrea, can you see the links in the previous posts? This one is to be used for Residency: https://www.acgme.org/Specialties/Documents-and-Resources/pfcatid/14/Orthopaedic%20Surgery

Also, you don’t need to use the updated form for your fellowship but you do need a block diagram for the fellowship . Email me if you have questions: llewis8@wellspan.org

This is a link to the information that I have found:
    https://www.acgme.org/Specialties/Documents-and-Resources/pfcatid/14/Orthopaedic%20Surgery
Scroll down to where it says “Orthopaedic Surgery Core Block Diagram”
There seems to be no other instructions but the file says REQUIRED at the end. I did not use this file for my fellowships.
    Happy ADSing!!!
