    Hi Michelle,

We have not done a plaque for this.  Maybe try reaching out to another program/department at your institution to see if they have one to share with you.

    Hi,

The University of Cincinnati also offers a Diversity Scholarship for visiting medical students.

Underrepresented in Medicine Visiting Clerkship Program

One of our diversity goals is to increase racial and ethnic diversity reflecting the population of the Cincinnati and surrounding community that we serve. To that end, the ODEI is now sponsoring the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Underrepresented in Medicine Visiting Clerkship Program. We will sponsor up to 12 funded visiting clerkship positions, space permitting, available from July through October for applicants from backgrounds underrepresented in medicine.  This program will provide a stipend up to $1500, to help defray the cost of an away rotation, to 4th year medical students attending a U.S. medical school from backgrounds that are underrepresented in medicine including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American/Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.

Our program includes a 4-week clinical rotation in the departments of Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery and Pediatrics.

    I hope this helps, Jen.

    Hi Noreen,

Wednesday morning from 6:30-9:00 am and Friday morning from 6:30-7:30 am is our dedicated academic time for conferences/lectures. It is protected time for the residents and we do not have any issues with attendance. On Wednesdays, our OR doesn’t start until 9am, so it works out prefect.  We also do OITE Reviews on Mondays evenings from 6-8:00 pm with dinner the months of August – November. Journal Club is held monthly on the 2nd Wednesday evening of each month  from 7-8:30 pm at a faculty member’s home. We get a great turn out for our JC. Have food and they will come.  🙂

Same for us. We are skipping this year and will resume in Las Vegas next year.

Try contacting the AAOS and see if they can help.

    Hi David –

On the ACGME website under your ADS there is a Case Log tab. Here you will find a Reference Manual with all kinds of good information that you can share with your residents.

Work hours will vary with programs depending on which system they utilize for tracking their work hours. Which system do you use? We use Medhub.  Our residents get their training on this when they do their GME orientation/onboarding.

Here is what I shared with David.

We only have to report the milestones twice per academic year (mid-year and end of the year), as required by the ACGME milestones reporting.

How you choose to use them as an assessment tool with rotations, evaluations, CCC meetings, etc. is up to your program.

Thanks for sharing Vicky. You are absolutely right about Ginny, she was fun loving and always had a smile on her face. To me she was like the ARCOS cheerleader!  She was very passionate about ARCOS and its members. At our meetings she made sure everyone was comfortable and was always asking if anyone needed anything.  Lots of good ARCOS memories of Ginny for sure.

    Hi everyone –

I reached out to my contact at the AAOS (again) to see if they will be able to honor us (program coordinators) a discounted rate for the AAOS Meeting registration. She is checking into it and will let me know as soon as she can.

Mine did not go out either via ERAS after several attempts.

I went ahead and did a blind carbon copy via Outlook as well.
