September 7, 2022 at 11:19 am in reply to: How does your program obtain the required (23) weeks of children’s orthopaedics #3885Kim ReisingKeymasterHi –
At the University of Cincinnati our residents do 18 weeks of peds as a PGY2 and another 10 weeks as a PGY4.
Kim
Kim ReisingKeymasterUniversity of Cincinnati will also be doing all (residency/fellowships) interviews virtually as mandated by our GME office.
Kim ReisingKeymasterHi Sara,
We now send our PGY5’s to the Miller Review Course so that they can get a head start on the final preparations for the board exam in July.
Prior to the Miller Review Course, we did send them to the Maine Review Course. The last day of clinical duties for our PGY5’s was on the Thursday before the course started and they were off for the remainder (last 2-weeks) of June to attend the course.
Now that we send them to the Miller Review Course, they get the last 2-weeks of June “off” but have to come in one week to study and then they can use their last week to move, etc. as we make them use vacation time for the last week.

Kim ReisingKeymasterCORD has not made any type of official announcement yet.
Laurie, thanks for sharing the information from your colleague about the student loan process. I’m sure many of us have not even thought about this and how it could effect applicants during the interview season if programs offer in-person interviews, if permitted.
