Greetings:  We hold our event the night before at a really cool and trendy restaurant.  It’s a very unique place and we make it laid back to include their great appetizers/fare/drinks being served while everyone mingles. Some people arrive directly from the airport, and we pay for Uber to get them back to the hotel we pay for. Those already at the hotel we pay for roundtrip Uber shuttle.  Good luck with all.  – Donna

I am so sad to hear of this. Joni and I accepted our roles the same year. I enjoyed her company at the conferences. I am shocked and will keep her family and friends in my prayers. 🙁

Was that recent (this year)? I reached out to them last year and was told they no longer offer travel grants due to budget constraints. I reached out in April and then again today because I haven’t received any reply?

Most are no longer giving travel grants. I don’t know what OTA is….I work with Fellows.

Same concerns for Fellowship Match Apps, as we are 1/4 the amount we have typically received over the years.

Hi Vicky:

We are in the midst of this process right now. Our former Fellow, from a few years ago, has been the APD.  Our current PD is stepping down for his new role as Chair.

I reached out to the ACGME for the process and was told we needed to send a request to our DIO who approved and then sent his request to the ACGME.

Once, that occurred, they reached out to our APD to being the process, updated CV, etc.

I was able to fill everything out on the ACGME ADS for him. It wasn’t bad at all. It looked just like the PD profile.

After that was submitted, the ACGME reached out to all of us, including GME and DIO, asking the DIO for a letter of support. He just sent to them on Monday.

We are now waiting for the ACGME.

Greetings:

This past season we offered a hybrid version.  Two separate Saturdays, one virtual and one in-person. We sent a survey to the applicants so they could choose their preference and we were able to balance out 24 per day. Same Agenda format for each.  We are doing the same for the upcoming year as well.

One of our previous fellows, Dr. Monica Payares was recently recognized and added to the AAOS Board for her work with women in orthopedics, especially the Latino community.  Would you like me to give her your information? Perhaps she could give you some feedback or even attend?

She is at Miami’s Childrens Hospital (Nicklaus Foundation) or you can reach out to her and tell her that I referred you.
