ParticipantNo, WVU does not provide a cellphone stipend for us although we do get a hospital employee discount through some of the carriers.

ParticipantAt WVU I am working from home 4 days a week. I go into the office on the PD’s administrative day and/or whenever necessary, ie – orientation, education retreat, graduation preparation. We have not been given a time frame as to when we will be back in the office full time.

ParticipantNo, cases done with loupes do not count in the microsurgery category.

ParticipantThe AAOS has stated that the link was not working and should be up soon. They sent me the attached as a work around. I’m not sure if that will help everyone but hopefully it does.

ParticipantAlso a heads-up, the score reports are COMPLETELY different than any other year.
Cindy Thompson
ParticipantActually, if you click on the Access Exam Score Reports tab that is beside the 2019 information, it has the 2020 reports listed.

ParticipantRebecca,
Both the AAMC and CORD have both strongly recommended that all interviews be done virtually, that being said, it is up to the program. We are doing virtual. Some things to consider:
1. Potential of unknowingly exposing applicants as well as your residents and faculty. Applicants may have just traveled via plane through multiple airports.
2. Putting applicants in a position of having to decide between the risks associated with in-person interviews and not interviewing.
3. Potential of putting applicants in a situation of violating their institutional travel bans.
There are additional things to consider but I think these are possibly the most relevant.Below is the link from the AAMC on the subject.

ParticipantOur residents use our institutional DEA.

ParticipantAshley~ Those numbers will be very program dependent as not all programs rotation schedules are set up the same. For example, my residents don’t do Peds until their PGY-3 year so they wouldn’t have an Peds (with the exception of call) cases until that year. So it won’t be an easy thing to compare with other programs. That information you will have to establish over time based on your residents experience and case volume. Another option to consider is to look at the case log requirements and have someone in your billing department run a report to see what the departmental numbers are for those cases based on an academic year. Another piece of information to consider is which of your faculty members are doing those cases and what the residents involvement is with those faculty members.

ParticipantCarol,
You can find Adult Reconstruction at https://fellowship.aahks.net.
I don’t have a hand fellowship so I don’t know if there is any other place. You can find a list of the hand fellowships at https://www.assh.org/applications/s/fellowshiphome and then click on view fellowship directory – you will be able to see the list of hand fellowships but you can’t view the details (PD info) unless you have an account.
