Communications Chief

• Resident ombudsman
• Faculty liaison

• Distributes weekly schedule of events
• Facilitate regular check-in meetings with PGY2s

Schedule Chief

• Holiday schedule
• Creation of senior call schedule
• Oversight of junior call schedule

Education Chief

• Journal club articles
• Articles for didactics
• Help with medical student organization
• Medical student engagement

Grand Rounds

• Scheduling speakers
• Coordinating visiting professors with appointed faculty
• IT/AV coordination

Special Events Chief

• Vacation schedules
• Fellowship interview scheduling
• Laros lecture (coordinate cases, transportation, etc.)
• Interviews
• Graduation events
• Social chair
• Wellness

Hi Melissa – At UChicago we used to have specific faculty designated to teach skills one day per month over the AY. This year we held our first Bootcamp event. It had week-by-week programming for the entire month of November. We hope to grow this into a city-wide event with all Chicago-based interns.

Starting August 1st I will be in the office 3 days per week. Up until now I’ve come in only for specific things that required me to be there in person.
