Madison BusseParticipantHi everyone!
Our institution is conducting an IRB-approved study to determine whether a correlation exists between OITE scores and clinical performance among orthopedic residents. As part of this study, we are reaching out to ask whether your program would be willing to share de-identified KSB and OITE score data for your residents.
Requested data for the 2025–2026 academic year:
KSB: Overall global scores, case complexity, and individual score breakdowns.
OITE: 2025 scores corresponding to the residents included in the KSB dataset.
PGY year: Please include each resident’s training level. Do not include names or other direct identifiers. Study-specific codes may be used to match assessments; please do not share the code key if you created one.We were able to easily and quickly obtain our institution’s data using the following steps:
KSB:
1. Navigate to the Reports tab.
2. Select the Surgical Skills report.
3. Set the date range to the 2025–2026 academic year and apply the appropriate filters.OITE: We obtained the 2025 scores through AAOS. Please provide the corresponding scores for residents in your KSB dataset.
All data will be reviewed for potentially identifying information before sharing, stored securely using institutionally approved methods, and used solely for this study. Findings will be reported in aggregate by class, case complexity, and Global eval. We would be happy to share our IRB approval letter and provide a data sharing agreement if needed!
We understand that recruitment season is a busy time and sincerely appreciate any data your program can provide. If you are willing to participate or have questions, please reach out to me at madison.busse@prismahealth.org. An example dataset for one resident is attached for reference.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
