Karla VillaParticipantGood afternoon, everyone,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone has recommendations for a lead vendor. We purchase lead for some of our residents and faculty, but the vendor we have been using is not currently accepting new fitting appointments.
If you have a preferred vendor that you’ve had a good experience with, I would appreciate any recommendations or contact information you’re willing to share.
Thank you in advance for your help. I hope everyone has a great week!
Sincerely,
Karla

Tracy PickoverParticipantHi Karla,
I have one that I use. I don’t know where you are located, but the vendor is located near Tampa, Florida.

Karla VillaParticipantHello Tracy,
I am in Texas. If you can let me know the company. Perhaps they have a rep for this area. Thank you.

Jessica WalshParticipantWe are in Houston, and my fellows all just got Barrier Technologies lead from this distributor – Carlos Chavira cell: 281-787-0499 / email: carlos.chavira@precisionsurgicaltx.com. Thank you!

Helen WomackParticipantI really like Infab because they have a thousand fun fabrics that our interns can choose for the inside of the lead vests. They also sell a couple of different products to protect the axillary breast tissue for our female residents. The biggest reason I like Infab is because they’ll give me an invoice to submit for payment instead of a quote which takes me half a day to enter into the system for a PO. I hope you can find a good rep.

Dawn D’EusanioParticipantBurlington Medical is the company we use for lead and eyewear.

Laurel LewisKeymasterHi Karla!
We just switched to Barrier Technologies. The are located in FL, but we are in PA, so they might have a rep in your area, Karla. Our PA reps is Bill. He might be able to help you find a TX rep. I’ve known him for years and he gives great service.

Amy KrausParticipantWe have worked with Ray for years. He honors our schedules / availability for fittings and has provided virtual offerings for selection / measurement instruction. He is great. We appreciate the light lead offering & fabric variety. Our faculty choose to use Protech Medical too.

Karla VillaParticipantThank you all. I will contact those you mentioned. Barrier technologies seem promising, as there is a rep in Houston and some of you utilize them. I will also reach out to Protech and Infab. Thank you, ladies.
I used Burlington for lead; unfortunately, they are not taking new fitting appointments and still waiting on my recall items for two residents.

Stephanie ThiemParticipantGood morning,
I am sorry if this is a duplicate of answers/resources –
Please see the vendor’s contact information that we, UTMB, use for our lead, lead glasses and racks/accessories for storing the items after/before use. We ordered customized lead for all 25 of our residents including each class of our new incoming class (each year during onboarding). The lead is tailored/measured to fit, with the lead specifications they want, as well as the pattern and design of their choice and embroidery of their credentials). They are very timely and professional.
