Hi All:

What type of items do you mail or typically give out in for interview season? Pens, shirts, brochures?  Is there a mandate of what you can’t give out?

Hi Donna,

When the students used to come in person, I would give them a folder with information and a branded pen.  Now that it’s all virtual, I don’t send them anything.  Just direct them to information online.

We mail students “invited to interview” a plastic blue folder to include a flyer (with program overview directing applicants to online brochure for details), pen, note pad, koozie, and carabiner.  All items including folder have the logo.  Last year, we sent a mask and hand sanitizer in lieu of note pad & koozie.

Last year we included branded cork coasters in the interview packets we mailed out. We’ll probably do those again and something else that’s easy to mail.

I was lazy.  I contacted a company who sent goodies and branded items from my town and state (little known fact: York County, PA is the Snack Capital of the World.  Seriously: http://www.phmc.state.pa.us/portal/communities/pa-heritage/snackin-pennsylvania-style.html ).  The interns told me they liked it.  I just had to send the addresses to this local catering company and if I wanted any residency branded stuff I had to get that to them.

With interviews being virtual rather than mailing a swag bag we gave applicants an electronic gift card for GrubHub.
