    Good afternoon, all!

I am reaching out to see if any programs have established faculty development initiatives. My director and I are currently looking for ideas to ensure our providers have the resources needed for resident training and mentorship. Specifically, I am interested in:
Formal programs or workshops for clinical educators.
Tools for enhancing direct observation and feedback skills.
Mentorship frameworks that support both faculty and resident growth.
If you have ANY recommendations or would be willing to share what works for your team, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks,

    Yolanda Porter

    Hi Yolanda,

AAOS hosts an educators course for faculty once a year. I’ve had a few faculty participate and those who went said it was a good course.

You may want to reach out to your medical school to see if they already have any programs or workshops you could piggyback off.

Would love to hear if others have any good mentorship frameworks that have worked well for them. We assign all of our interns a faculty member when they join the program, but people have said it feels forced and often fizzles out after sometime.

    Courtney
