Test CoordinatorParticipant
Hi Melissa,
I hope you are well.
We try to send our PGY 1s to the AO Basic Surgical Course to cover some of the modules and we also use the ABOS modules.
Test CoordinatorParticipantHello,
We have our residents choose vacation dates prior to the start of the academic year. We then enter these dates in MedHub. Any changes to the dates must be made via MedHub. We do bi-monthly reports to ensure all the residents have their vacation time assigned.
We have our rotation schedule on excel with a tab for PTO (personal time/vacation time). We monitor changes on this sheet which we then post to the rotation schedule. It is the resident’s responsibility to submit any changes to time off via MedHub.
Test CoordinatorParticipanthello,
Our GME opens up APE July 1 and it’s due by end of August.

Test CoordinatorParticipanthello,
Our PGY1s attend general surgery conferences when on non-ortho rotations.
Exception: PGY1s attend monthly grand rounds, summer anatomy and longitudinal bioskills sessions regardless of the rotations they are on.
Test CoordinatorParticipantGot it. thanks
Test CoordinatorParticipantHello,
to continue the discussion…Has anyone received information as to when the exam would be released to the residents? the last communication was that we would hear back by end of January. My residents are anxious about reviewing their questions.

UCLATest CoordinatorParticipantHi Joni,
thank you so much for sharing.

Would the Examination team prefer we submit our requests/concerns individually or prefer you be the voice for us? If we sign up for the remote and they don’t change it to two days, can we opt out of that?We prefer remote over two days due to call schedule and also since our Campus is going to online learning, the technology computer lab will most likely not be open so we don’t have anywhere for the residents to take the exam and be proctored in the traditional way.
hope you are all safe and doing well.
Test CoordinatorParticipantGood morning.
Perhaps a survey could be created to capture the information. As for us here are UCLA, we plan on using Zoom, about the same number of applicants, however, we are increasing the number of days.
I do have a question. Is anyone planning on having panel or paired faculty interviews? Has anyone had success with that? If so, how might that look or work?

UCLATest CoordinatorParticipantHi all,
a little late to the conversation but attached are the copies of the JDs I have.SAO (student affairs officer). this is our payroll title. go to https://ucla.app.box.com/s/yq5nvvvahkzznbh74czmo47iae8sn5db
or google UCLA scale descriptions for student affairs officer. this gives descriptions of each level by the University.
Attachments:
1. SAO assistant – doesn’t necessarily need to be a full-time job.
2. Admin Specialist is generic. for our office, we identify this person as Education Specialist which equals SAO-I level
3. SAO-II level
4. SAO-III and SAO-IV are exempt positions and are salaried. these do not pay OT. SAO-IV-V require supervision of staff. sample of SAO-IV JDAttachments:
