University of Washington will be in person this year.  I preferred virtual but our faculty prefer in person.  Virtual is more cost effective for everyone and creates a more level playing field.

    Hi Rebecca:

We have group evaluations for our trauma teams.  One faculty member from each trauma team is assigned to obtain feedback for residents from all trauma faculty on that team and submit the resident evaluations at the end of each rotation.  I set up a faculty member named Ex. “Attendings, Blue Trauma Team” in MedHub.  The evaluation goes to the email of the faculty member assigned to complete the group evals.  One faculty member completes all evaluations for the team and the residents see their completed evaluations in MedHub as being from all faculty on the team instead of from individual faculty members.

We are doing all virtual interviews at University of Washington again this year.  Virtual interviews really help med students that don’t have as many financial resources available to them.  Since med students are doing away rotations, it is better to save everyone the travel expense and possibility of getting Covid from in person interviews.  I’m fully vaccinated and double boosted and in my third week of recovering from Covid and I’m about 80% better now.

University of Washington is doing all virtual interviews even for UW med students.  We are following COPA policy for away rotations.

Can this be recorded and emailed or post the link in the ARCOS forum?  It’s time for my recertification but I’m on vacation next week with no computer.

    Thanks!

Melissa: When was your site visit originally scheduled.  I’m trying to figure out when ours will actually happen.  Sorry, no answers to your question.

    Good luck!

Our residents have fee-exempt DEA licenses because one of our sites is a public hospital. Each resident has their own DEA license but they are institution specific and can only be used for University of Washington sites.

At University of Washington in Seattle, we were just banned from traveling and I won’t be attending ARCOS and our faculty and residents won’t be attending AAOS. It is a relief to me, since Washington state has been hit hard by Covid 19. Currently, anyone that can work from home, is working from home.
