Please share the survey information below with your PGY1, PGY2 and PGY3 residents. Your assistance with this project is greatly appreciated!
We are contacting you from the Department of Orthopaedics at West Virginia University and would greatly appreciate you forwarding this email to your PGY1-PGY3 residents. We are conducting a study to determine how COVID has influenced how applicants select an orthopaedic residency program during the match process.
In order to complete this study, we are requesting that PGY1-PGY3 orthopaedic residents fill out the attached survey that addresses program preferences and interview details. Upon completion of the survey, participants will be asked to provide their email to receive a $10 amazon gift card awarded to the first 200 participants. The survey should take no longer than ten minutes to complete.
Any involvement in this project will be kept confidential. All data will be reported in aggregate. The survey will be completely deidentified and will not disclose the participants’ identity. The email addresses provided will be solely for distribution of $10 amazon gift cards and are in no way connected to any responses. Participation is completely voluntary. Any question can be skipped, and the survey can be discontinued at any time. The West Virginia University Institutional Review Board’s approval of this project is on file with the WVU Office of Human Research Protections.
We appreciate your time and greatly value your responses. At the end of this study, our hope is to provide some insight on how COVID, virtual interviews, and lack of away rotations has influenced the applicant’s rank list and the match.
