Dear Residency & Fellowship Program Director,
We wanted to personally reach out to inform you of our University of Kansas Orthopedics, Sports Medicine Fellowship unmatched position beginning August 2024-2025. We are looking for help identifying a great PGY4 applicant that may have slipped through the cracks and went unmatched, or decided after the deadline that they wanted to do a fellowship. This could also be a PGY5 that has now decided to do a second fellowship.

The Univ of Kansas Fellowship has a tremendous operative experience that encompasses all facets of sports medicine. The opportunities include open & arthroscopic shoulder, hip arthroscopy, multi-ligamentous injuries, advanced cartilage restoration and osteotomies and all of the typical bread and butter cases. In total ~ 400-500 cases per fellow. We have a robust research infrastructure and provide game coverage in division 1 athletics and the pros. At the Univ of Kansas we pride ourselves on mentorship and look forward to the lifelong relationships that are built between fellows and faculty.
Clinical Experience
Emphasis will be placed on the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, ankle, and other sports injuries. These skills include:
1. Focus on arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and biological as well as capsular augmentation, arthroscopic and open shoulder stabilization, elbow arthroscopy, arthroscopic and arthroscopic-assisted meniscal repair, cartilage and meniscal transplantation, and hip arthroscopy
2. Exposure to complex reconstructive procedures including ACL, PCL and multiple ligament knee injury reconstruction and revisions, periarticular knee osteotomy, elbow reconstruction, total shoulder arthroplasty and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty
3. Daily management of athletic injuries
