Hi All, My PD asked if anyone’s residents were deployed into different departments during this time and has anyone’s residents tested positive, or faculty during the pandemic? With the State “opening” we have a foreseen increase of patients.

    Stay safe!

Our residents weren’t deployed to different departments but 1 resident tested positive at the very beginning and 1 tested positive a couple weeks ago. I don’t know if any faculty have.

    Hi Lisa,
Our Ortho residents were not re-deployed but did work in platoons until last week (May 27). Praise God, no one has tested positive – faculty, residents, or staff. Our COVID-19 cases are steady and low at our main teaching hospital: 21 in hospital with 7 on vents as of this morning. Elective surgical cases have opened.
I hope this helps and answers your questions.
    Best wishes to all,
    ~Laurel
