    Hi all,

I know we are all busy with the interview season but my GME office has posed us with a question:

How many of you out there use your personal cell phones for work related duties?
Do you receive a reimbursement for your cell phone usage, or is it built into your contract?

I am very curious to see what you all say…..Also, if anyone knows of any type of report that already discusses the percentage of coordinators that get reimbursed that would be helpful too!

    Have a good weekend!

I use my phone all the time and there is no reimbursement for the usage of the phone. Other than that I have no other information to offer. Sorry!

Great Question and one I have thought about myself. I use my personal cell phone all day for work. I am curious about the replies.

    Good morning,

Our program (and this might just be our department specifically) pays for a “work phone.” I personally don’t use it, and just use my personal phone, as I don’t want to carry around two phones. If your school/hospital/program offers work phones for others, it doesn’t seem unreasonable for you to have one. Methodist does have a policy however, that they do not reimburse personal cell phones.

I also used my personal cell and am not reimbursed.

Several services offer institutional / education rates – we just need to show that we are state employees to receive the plan.

    Good Afternoon,
When I began my position, I informed my PD that I will not provide my personal phone number and he was ok with it initially. I also did not receive emails on my personal phone. Needless to say, after not being able to contact me, he asked administration to provide me with a phone.

Thanks everyone for your responses. It’s so interesting…it seems we all spend time on our personal phones trying to herd these cats! It must be all jobs nowadays that people have to deal with this.

    Thanks!
    Cynthia
