PGY-1 General Surgery Rotations

Hi All,

Does your PGY-1 residents attend the general surgery conferences while on their general surgery rotations (trauma, ICU, etc)? Or do they attend all ortho conferences during their PGY-1 year? Any insight is appreciated.

Our PGY1s attend general surgery conferences when on non-ortho rotations.

Exception: PGY1s attend monthly grand rounds, summer anatomy and longitudinal bioskills sessions regardless of the rotations they are on.

Hi Jamie! Our PGY-1s attend general surgery conferences on the rotations hosted by general surgery. For rotations such as anesthesia and neurosurgery without formal didactics programs, PGY-1s attend our conferences.

Hi Jamie!  Our PGY1s are required to attend our orthopaedic Thursday morning conferences from 7:00-10:00 (this includes GR).  They also attend general surgery conferences when possible.
