Orthopaedic APE Action Plans

Good morning,

I started in my position July 1st of last year and was immediately thrown in to do the annual APE with guidance from my PD. I am new the the GME world. After all this, we did have one citation for scholarly activity.

I have a meeting today and they are asking for me to come prepared with questions I have about entering Ortho APE action plans. I have no clue about APE action plans besides what I have read and entered last year. What questions would you all ask?

Also, what is your department doing to keep records of scholarly activity for your faculty members? Asking for an updated CV monthly? Advice please!

Hi Ramona,
Please check your email for a message from ARCOS President Kim Reising for an invitation to a “LIVE/Virtual” presentation with Dr Pam Derstine, our ACGME Executive Director for the Orthopaedic Review Committee. It is on this Thursday at 2PM via WebEx. We have asked her to go over the new changes coming up in the Common Program Requirements (CPRs) as well as specific items, like the Annual Program Evaluation (APE) and Action Plans. She also has a section on what we are to be documenting during the COVID 19 Crisis, and much more!

Ohhhh, I hope I have not given too much away! Looking forward to “seeing” you all there!!
