Open Position – ARCOS Board of Directors

Greetings ARCOS Members!

We are looking for a member to join us on the ARCOS Board of Directors!

Unfortunately, one of our current board members has resigned her position, due to personal obligations. As such, the ARCOS Board of Directors now has an immediate vacancy for a member-at-large. This new member-at-large will begin their term immediately upon voting by electronic ballot by current ARCOS membership. The term of this member will be five years and will expire at the conclusion of our annual meeting in 2025.

The ARCOS Board of Directors consists of 11 members, including the 5 officer positions of President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Board members are required to attend two ARCOS plenary meetings per year, as well as the ARCOS annual meeting, for the duration of their term. The board hold plenary meetings in both June and September and also meets during the ARCOS annual meeting. There are also a few conference calls during the year, especially leading up to the annual meeting.

In order to be considered for the position, candidates must:

• Be a current member of ARCOS
• Have attended at least one ARCOS annual meeting
• Be a coordinator of an ACGME accredited residency or fellowship program

Those interested in running for this open position should:

• Submit a letter of intent, current CV and photo
• Submit a letter of financial support from your PD or Chair to participate in both the plenary and annual meetings for the 5-year term

As we are filling a vacated position, the turnaround time for this special election is approximately three weeks. The deadline for the letter of intent and the financial support letter, CV, and photo is January 23, 2020. Voting will take place by electronic ballot between January 27 and January 31. Provided the board receives at least one candidate and a quorum of voters, the new board member will be announced on Monday, February 3.
