Hello Everyone,
There seems to be a bit of uncertainty regarding completing the New Record of Resident Assignment (RRA) Tab in the ABOS Residency Activities Portal. So, we reached out to Sonya Parker, ABOS Certification Specialist, to answer all questions via a virtual session.
Reminder that the deadline for completing the RRA is Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
The virtual session will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM (Eastern) via Zoom.
To register:
- Log in to the ARCOS website at https://www.arcosonline.org
- Select Upcoming Events on the menu bar
- Select View as List
- Select the virtual session, Your ABOS RRA Questions Answered and complete the registration
- You will receive an email confirmation
- In the email, open the attachment (icals.ics) to save the event to your calendar, and paste the Zoom access information into your calendar event
For those who are unable to attend the live virtual event, the session will be recorded and uploaded onto the ARCOS website ASAP.
We look forward to seeing you! Contact Laurel at llewis8@wellspan.org with any questions about this event.
This session is brought to you by the ARCOS Board of Directors.

The ABOS has canceled the virtual event that we had planned with them. I am trying to reschedule, but I don’t know if this will be possible before the deadline.
Please direct any your questions about the RRA forms to Sonya at sparker@abos.org or you can call her at (919) 929-7103.
My apologies for this late notice.
Just FYI, one FAQ regards what subspecialty rotations will fit into Basic Science & Clinical Subspecialties and Adult Ortho – and the answer is:
Basic Science & Clinical Subspecialties = Foot and Ankle | Hand | Sports Medicine Surgery | Shoulder/Elbow | Oncology | Night Float | Research
Adult Ortho = Spine | Joints/Adult Recon | Gen Ortho
Attached, for future reference, is the ABOS Rules and Procedures for Residency Education, Part I, and Part II Examinations.
Take care, ALL!
~Laurel
