    Hi Everyone:

I was wondering if anyone would share a sample of what you plan for your day with the Fellowship Interviews. I have one interview day now that is falling apart due to medical emergencies with some of the Attendings who interview individually and am looking for filler ideas.

    Thanks so much!

    Donna 🙂

Hi Donna – I have a residency program, not fellowship, but we run our interviews in one 4-hour Saturday morning (in which we interview 75 people). Here is a sample of our agenda. We start the day with a 30 minute talk by the Chair of the Department about Mayo Clinic, we have a 1 hour program director talk which highlights the residency program, we have 4 15-minute interviews, and we have a 45 minute tour of our campus. In the down time we have residents from our program having casual conversations with the applicants answering any questions.

7:30 a.m. Welcome to Mayo Clinic, Rochester
    Chair, Department of Orthopedic Surgery
    8:00-8:15 a.m. Interview with Dr. A
    8:15-8:30 a.m. Interview with Dr. B
    9:00-9:45 a.m. Program Director Meeting
    10:15-10:30 a.m.Interview with Dr. Y
    10:30-10:45 a.m.Interview with Dr. X
10:45-11:45 a.m.Tour of Mayo Campus (with residents)
    12:00-2:00 p.m. Lunch with residents

    Hi Donna,

If there is ever a gap, we do tours of the hospital with the residents. we also do a slide show about our program and things that have occurred over the year. It prompts conversation and the time flies by!
