Important Updates from the ARCOS Board of Directors

Good afternoon, everyone!

I hope this email finds you all doing well, surviving this busy time of the year with interviews along with preparing for the holidays.

Just some quick updates to share with everyone.

Changes within the ARCOS Board of Directors

Due to the resignation of Artina Dawkins, it has been determined that I will assume the role of Interim President through the end of the March 2023 conference. Laurel Lewis will remain as President-Elect and will step up as President at the conclusion of the March 2023 conference in Las Vegas.

The Board of Directors will be seeking a new Member-at-Large to replace the vacant spot on the Board of Directors.  Please watch for a post with details if you are interested in running for this open position.

Membership Dues Renewal

Deadline is Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Institutional dues of $275 must be received by December 31 to maintain active membership.

Active membership gives you continued access to our online community forum, virtual sessions, updated news, and the ability to register for the Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, NV March 7-10, 2023.

2023 Annual Conference Registration

Registration is open and the deadline is January 15, 2023. Conference registration fee is $550 per member. If you have any questions about the conference registration, please contact Joni Roberts at treasurer@arcosonline.org.

Patsi Furr Coordinator Spotlight Lecturer and/or Poster Session

We are still accepting applications for you to present as the Patsi Furr Coordinator Spotlight lecturer and/or Poster Session.

Both activities are a great opportunity to showcase your experience and knowledge at the national level.

Earn TAGME Personal Professional Growth (PPG) credit for each of these events presented at the ARCOS Annual Conference.  In addition, awards are given for Best Poster (last year we had a tie!) and the Patsi Furr lecturer receives a complimentary registration to the March 2023 Conference ($550 value).

CORD Meeting

For those who plan to attend the CORD Meeting on Friday, March 10, the Early Bird registration fee of $175 expires on December 31, 2022, and then the rate will go up to $250.  Don’t miss out on this great opportunity.  Link to the AOA/CORD website https://www.aoassn.org/cord-conference/

Hotel – Las Vegas

At the present time the room block via the AAOS website for Caesars Palace is unavailable. More rooms have opened up at The Nobu at Caesars ($218) and the Mirage ($193), which is on the same side of the street as Caesars Palace, and The Linq ($119) which is located across the street from Caesars Palace.  You can keep checking back to the AAOS website daily as they occasionally open up more rooms for various hotels.

Last, I want to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to the ARCOS Board of Directors. Since our last conference earlier this year in Chicago, the board has been working non-stop on putting together another great conference for our members. Your time, effort, and dedication to ARCOS is greatly appreciated.

I’ll keep this short and sweet because who has time with the Holidays upon us?

• Remember to renew your 2023 Institutional Membership Dues – just one fee of $275 for everyone in your institution – deadline 12/31/22.
  • You need to have updated dues to sign up for the Awesome ARCOS Annual Conference we will enjoy March 7-11, 2023 in LVNV – deadline 1/15/23.
• Hotels in LVNV, keep shopping hotels through at the AAOS ONPEAK Website as they open up daily.  Right now, good bets are Linq and Harrah’s.
• The CORD (Council of Ortho Res Dir) Meeting is Mar 10 and you need to register to attend. Save $75 by registering before 12/31/22.  Click Here
• We are still looking for Patsi Furr and Poster Presenters!  Earn TAGME credits, add a national presentation to your resume, and most of all share your talents and knowledge with your ARCOS Family!  Links are on the ARCOS Website Home Page. These deadlines are looming fast!  The reason for these tight deadlines is that The Board must provide numbers for the venue, food, and meeting materials to make this all come together.  The ARCOS Annual Conference is begins March 7 – that is so close!  🙂
