    Hello,

Would anyone mind sharing their graduation reception program, please? We are looking to revamp our order of service, and I was hoping to see how other programs schedule their evening reception.

    Kindly,

    LM

    Hi Lashun!

Our graduation dinner begins with appetizers at 6:00 pm. Our graduates and their guests briefly step away during this time for our photographer to take a family photo.

Welcome from the program director at 6:55 pm. Dinner at 7:00 pm. Introduction and remarks at 7:45 from our department chair.

8:00 pm is the introduction of our graduating residents. Each resident asks a faculty member to introduce them. This is typically a PowerPoint that the faculty member has collaborated with family and co-residents to create. Once the faculty member presentation is done, the graduating resident presents a PowerPoint, usually highlights of their residency and thank-you’s.

Our faculty teaching award is presented by the graduates following the resident presentations. Then our department chair gives his closing remarks!

    Hope this helps!

    Laurie

At our graduation dinner we present our graduates with their diplomas and then give them the podium to announce their faculty teacher of the year award winner. At our graduation we have ortho residents graduating, podiatry residents, and we do the fellows here also, so it is a lot of people to get through. We used to give out other awards at dinner, but we found that it got too long, and we started losing people’s attention so now we do all other awards during the day at our research event.
