“The AAOS BOS Fellowship Committee discussed at length the options for fellowship interviews for the 2021-2022 cycle given the current Delta variant surge and institutional travel restrictions. After consideration and review of AAMC recommendations, the BOS Fellowship Committee strongly recommends that fellowship interviews be conducted virtually for the 2021-2022 cycle. Given the differences in travel policies amongst programs and applicants’ home institutions, we believe that the virtual option provides the most equitable and transparent fellowship interview process for both fellowship applicants and programs across the country during this cycle.
