Everyone should verify that their interview invitations went out if sent via ERAS today. My first “message” sent via ERAS make it known it didn’t go through. My second interview offer did not go either. I didn’t figure it out until almost 6 hours later.
It appears after speaking with several students tonight that they received far fewer interview offers than anticipated so there may be an issue within ERAS.
You can log in and check your sent messages, it will tell you if it went or not. I sent mine the 3rd time Blind Carbon Copy via Outlook.
Not good ERAS!
November 15, 2021 at 6:45 pm #3089Kim ReisingKeymasterMine did not go out either via ERAS after several attempts.
I went ahead and did a blind carbon copy via Outlook as well.
November 15, 2021 at 6:53 pm #3090Darlene ClintonParticipantI had problems as well. After two attempts and getting error message I called ERAS. I had to send them in smaller groups.
November 15, 2021 at 7:14 pm #3091David E. CraigParticipantIf it shows up under the “Communications” tab is that verification.
My PD sent them out before I could. Looks OK to me and the Invitation email said not to reply until after the 48 hour window on Wednesday at noon, but I’m shocked I didn’t hear from anyone at all even so.November 15, 2021 at 7:18 pm #3092Viveka SpiveyParticipantThat is terrible! What is the message you get to tell you they didn’t go through? I went to my sent and this is what it shows for me.
Does the that mean ours went through?
November 16, 2021 at 8:11 am #3093Courtney MatlachKeymasterI tried sending a bulk message to over 700 people and I got a message back saying delivery failed. I called ERAS and they said they were having an issue with bulk messages and to send batches of less then 100. Very frustrating!
November 16, 2021 at 8:14 am #3094AnonymousInactiveI tried to send to a group of 60 and it failed. I ended up batching mine in groups of 20 and it worked.
November 16, 2021 at 12:30 pm #3095Michelle AllenParticipantAll my invites went out via ERAS. I had med students cc me when responding to email. I think that because they have 48 hrs to respond, no one is jumping at the first opportunity. They are waiting to see if the school they really want to attend has offered them an interview.
November 16, 2021 at 12:57 pm #3097AnonymousInactiveI only sent 31 but don’t think they went. Sent them in outlook one minute later.
November 17, 2021 at 12:26 pm #3101Courtney MatlachKeymasterI’m assuming that thalamus crashed, but has anyone been able to get in? First ERAS issues on Monday and now this, so frustrating!
November 17, 2021 at 12:28 pm #3102Rebecca ScottParticipantCourtney, I am having the several issues with thalamus. Very disappointed! and frustrated. I only have 3 spots filled and several emails from applicants not able to sign up.

November 17, 2021 at 12:30 pm #3103Courtney MatlachKeymasterI cant’ even log in! I just emailed the applicants letting them know that I would email once I’ve opened the scheduling feature. Many wrote back saying they are unable to get in at all.
November 17, 2021 at 12:36 pm #3104Christen CoffeyParticipantI am in Thalamus but my interview dates are not showing on the calendar. I sent Thalamus a message about this and they said … “Thanks for your email. We are looking into this issue immediately with our engineers. We appreciate your patience and are working on a resolution for this.”
November 18, 2021 at 10:35 am #3105Melissa WheelerKeymasterI think if we do something similar to this next year, we need to stagger the offers and the scheduling to not overwhelm these systems. Perhaps staggering by time zones when offers go out and when they can schedule would help with this issue. I don’t think it was any less stressful on the students to have to try and schedule with every program at the exact same time and as we saw in ERAS and Thalamus, it crashed their systems.
November 18, 2021 at 10:38 am #3106AnonymousInactiveCan this be a topic for discussion at the ARCOS meeting in March?
