    Hi all,
I want to introduce something to our Orientation that I can use for all residents every year.  I’ve been amazed at how many residents says they don’t know what/how to report case logs accurately.  We’re wanting to do a detailed presentation as part of Orientation and something we can use every year to refresh ALL residents annually.  Ditto for logging duty hours.  Who has a good PowerPoint (or anything else) they’d be wiling to share so I can reference it and make something to get my folks back on track.
I’d be very appreciate of anything you might share.

    Hi everyone-

Regarding case logs, I brought this issue up in a meeting recently with Corey Parker at the ACGME and it is currently in the works to get a webinar on the schedule for late June to educate our incoming residents on how to report their case log accurately and to serve as a refresher to our current residents.  Stay tuned for details.

    Hi David:

Here at UT/Campbell Clinic. Case logging training is woven into our didactic training and usually led by our “elected” chief residents. It is ongoing so that those that are unable to make the training due to rotation  duties will also be able to learn as well as ask questions regarding case logs. This change has been a tremendous help and resulted in more cases added and logged correctly.

    Hi David,

At Loma Linda our Chief Resident will train our interns on logging cases. This is done during the ortho orientation. I do the training for logging in duty hours. I do not have any training material but would love to see what other programs are using.

How do your residents acquire their CPT codes for logging cases? Do you give them a list of cases they where in with codes provided or are your residents responsible for keeping track of cases, codes prior to logging?

    Thank you,

    Jessica

Any news on the ACGME webinar for case logging mentioned above?
