    Good afternoon,

Our residency program is currently in the market for a new arthroscopic simulator.

Our program director and faculty would like to know what simulators other residency programs?  Specifically, we would love to about the ones residents enjoy using and feel are beneficial.  Additionally, a company with a good tech support team when issues arise is certainly a bonus.

    Thanks!

Our simulator broke all the time, so this year we’ve moved to virtual reality simulation and purchased Oculus headsets for the residents. They’ll be using learning modules through OSSO VR that will track their progress.  We’re still building curriculum and finalizing the agreement with OSSO so the residents haven’t started yet but they will be soon, and they’re really excited for it.

We have the Virtamed Simulator.  We purchased it in 2016.  We are now out of warranty and just this week a part broke on it.  It’s expensive to fix and the warranty is expensive to maintain. They are able to remote into your system and trouble shoot with you, so tech support is available.  The residents like it and we will likely pay to upgrade/repair ours.  We are also going to get virtual reality as well (in addition to the simulator).
