    ARCOS Members,

Due to the COVID-19 public health situation evolving over the past week, ARCOS saw one-quarter of our meeting registrants (including Board members) and many of our scheduled speakers cancel due to new institutional travel restrictions. During this time, our Board has been monitoring the situation and adjusting plans to deliver the best possible conference for any members who could still attend. However, this morning we all learned that AAOS decided to cancel the Annual Meeting. Unfortunately, this means that the ARCOS Annual Meeting must also be cancelled.

Like the AAOS, we do not take this decision lightly. We have been planning this meeting for nearly a year and were very much looking forward to the presentations, networking, and camaraderie that makes the ARCOS meeting special and successful. But the spread of COVID-19 is a serious health concern and we stand with AAOS in the belief that cancelling is the right thing to do. Our plan now is move forward and hit the ground running with planning for an excellent conference in 2021!

In the meantime, we would like to provide the following suggestions for your cancellations:

    ARCOS Registration Refunds:
Our treasurer will be in contact with each of you to confirm how each refund will be processed and the correct mailing address to use for checks. In general, registrations that were paid via check will be refunded as a check and registrations paid via credit card will be refunded to the same credit card. Our goal is to issue all refunds by April 15.

    AOA CORD Registration:
CORD will be sending an email with their updates soon.

    AAOS Registration:
Please contact AAOS for information on registration refunds.

Hotel Cancellations (per the AAOS website):
Cancellations must be made directly with the hotel and according to the hotel’s cancellation policy which ranges from 5 days to 72 hours prior to arrival. For more information contact MCI:
    • 800.931.6026 (Domestic)
    • 349.5558 (International)
    aaos@mcievents.com

    Flights:
Please work with your institution to cancel or transfer flights.

Again, we regret that we are not able to hold our annual conference in 2020. However, we understand that public health concerns, institutional travel restrictions, the cancellation of the AAOS meeting, and our own commitment to maintaining the health and safety of our members, has necessitated this cancellation. We ask for your understanding and look forward to seeing you all March 9 – 12, 2021 in San Diego.

    Thanks!
    Kim
