ABOS G1 Required Surgical Skills Modules

Hello- Does anyone send their G1 residents to a course to complete the required ABOS surgical skills modules or know of a course that covers them? I am looking for options.

Hi Melissa- At MUSC, my ortho faculty are assigned the different modules from ABOS and they train the interns on each module during the first few weeks of July.  Hope this helps!  Joan

Hi Melissa – At UChicago we used to have specific faculty designated to teach skills one day per month over the AY. This year we held our first Bootcamp event. It had week-by-week programming for the entire month of November. We hope to grow this into a city-wide event with all Chicago-based interns.

We try to send our PGY 1s to the AO Basic Surgical Course to cover some of the modules and we also use the ABOS modules.
