They didn’t know today was 1 of 2 of our testing days, and we were sent an upset email about it. Of course, the hospital was hit this week with ransomware, and I lost my OITE files, so I have no way of seeing if it was missed on a form by me, or what. There’s no way for me to double-check my dates and proctors, plus they used that Microsoft Form survey for a portion. Anyway, I feel much more discombobulated this year than in years past, and they are obviously taking it much more seriously, as Cindy said.

I am very glad I saw this exchange because I thought I was losing my mind (which still may be the case) because I couldn’t find the AAOS IDs for my residents who are taking the exam virtually. It all makes sense now but it is completely inconvenient. If there is 1 thing I have learned in my 20 years as a coordinator…never rely on the residents to save their login info. NEVER! 🙂  Good luck everyone. We’ve got this.

    Hello All,

Has anyone had a proctored in person OITE, yet?  My question is:  What was the responsibility of the second proctor?  Did they have to log in and have a password like the first proctor?  I am not finding any mention of the second proctor in the Proctor Guide (which maybe should be Proctors’ Guide???)  🙂

    Thanks,

    ~Laurel

    Hi Laurel,

I’m the second proctor for our exam (today is my fourth day on the job). I don’t have a log in or password. Mostly I’m here in case the proctor wants or needs to step out for any reason. She took a break for lunch, then I took one. She takes her computer everywhere so she can let residents back in the exam if/when necessary.

    Laurel,

We both logged into the system to track, and yes we both had login / PW assigned. I recall the question about “needing to have both log in” being asked at the AAOS OITE session. I felt that AAOS wanted us both to log in and show that we were present.

I set the initial session, providing the access code, but we were both able to view and manage the exam, while approving the entry / reentry into the exam.

We tested on Monday and will again test on Saturday.

We did have to continually refresh our platform to get live updates / statuses.

    Amy
