The 2024 Essentials of Lower Extremity Limb Reconstruction (ELER) hands-on course is a two-day event created by the faculty of the Baltimore Limb Deformity Course (BLDC) in conjunction with the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society: ASAMI- North America (LLRS) to be held at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas on January 26 & 27, 2024. The course is appropriate for PGY3-5 residents, pediatric fellows, and trauma fellows.

The course teaches the fundamentals of deformity analysis and circular external fixation as well as highlights how deformity analysis and correction are an invaluable tool for the treatment of complex orthopedic conditions across all orthopedic subspecialties. The course includes a combination of didactic and hands-on skills training focused on deformity analysis, biomechanical principles of frame design, safe pin and wire placement, and osteotomy techniques. Case presentations will be utilized to facilitate discussion among the participants and faculty regarding both basic and advanced challenges. The diverse faculty have been selected from the faculties of LLRS, BLDC, OTA, and POSNA in order to optimize educational value.

Registration is free but space is limited to 48 participants. Participants will be responsible for travel expenses and lodging. A discounted hotel rate has been negotiated at a nearby hotel. Registration is through the LLRS website here. The course brochure is attached.

    Thank you,
