This past year, we created a new Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the Bone and Joint Center located within UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. The first Fellow will be starting in August of 2022 and we are in the midst of recruiting for the 2023 fellowship year.

Our fellowship is unique in that the program combines core clinical training in adult reconstruction surgery as well as being immersed in and become part of the leadership team in our new Wellness Center for Bone and Joint Health.  The new Center unites multiple UPMC departments and programs to provide seamless care that more fully addresses patients’ needs for both non-operative and operative care. Goals of the new Center are to not only reduce existing disparities in bone and joint health for patients but also begin to address the large gender disparities within the adult reconstruction surgery.

We were not permitted to participate in the match this year and therefore have developed a more focused recruitment effort and would appreciate it if you would share the information included with residency directors as well as your own ortho networks. Although the fellowship is open to everyone, we would like to strongly encourage women candidates to apply.
