The Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute invites 2nd or 3rd year medical students to apply for a 1-year funded Sports Medicine Clinical Research Fellowship position starting Spring/Summer of 2025.

This is a great opportunity for highly motivated individuals to strengthen their application for the Orthopedic Surgery Match. The sports medicine research fellow will be expected to work on numerous projects with several investigators; therefore, excellent organization and communication skills are necessary. The fellow’s duties include project design, IRB drafting, scientific literature review, data collection, data analysis, progress updates, as well as book chapter and manuscript preparation.

This year marks the 2nd year of our Sports Medicine Research Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Bruce A. Levy. In his previous position, Dr. Levy created and developed the Research Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where all 24 previous fellows published numerous papers and successfully matched into residency. In addition, the research fellow will have the opportunity to work with the residents and surgeons from the Orlando Health Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program, attend the resident lectures and observe cadaver lab sessions and live surgery. We plan to submit numerous abstracts for presentation at national and/or international meetings during the year which will be funded by the research fellowship.

To apply, email your CV, a letter of recommendation, personal statement, picture, USMLE Step 1 report, Shelf and/or USMLE Step 2 score report, and medical school transcript to Dr. Levy’s executive assistant at Jannette.rosario@orlandohealth.com

Here at Orlando Health, we plan to emulate the successful program noted above and we are excited for you to be our first sports medicine research fellow.

Thank you for your interest in our position!

    Sincerely,

Bruce A. Levy, MD                                                                                          Ben Service, MD

Academic Chief of Sports Medicine                                                           Director of Sports Medicine Research
