    Hello ARCOS!

Please take a few minutes to engage in this survey request from Dr Kimberly Templeton, who was our ARCOS Keynote Speaker a few years ago in Las Vegas.

    Participation is anonymous.

Background:  Passing the ABOS Part II examination is a critical milestone for orthopaedic surgeons, yet failure is relatively common.

This is an ARCOS, AOA, and COERG – approved study to identify the factors associated with Part II failure.  The study aims to identify performance measures associated with candidates who have failed ABOS Part II to improve early identification of at-risk candidates and support board certification success.

Please find the REDCap survey link below to participate in this important project.

         https://redcap.link/boards_part_II

Here are the steps for successful completion of the survey.

You, as the coordinator, are the catalyst for the survey.  After accessing the link, you will see a link to “ABOS Survey Part 1.”

    1. Download and Print form “ABOS Survey Part 1” for each candidate that did not pass ABOS Part II the first time
    2. Mark each form with the candidate’s name
    3. Complete the information (background) for each candidate
    4. Provide the completed form(s) to your Program Director (PD) as well as the same link https://redcap.link/boards_part_II
    5. The PD then uses the link to complete the rest of the survey using the information that you have provided on the form(s) – there are additional questions for the PD to complete on the survey.
    6. Hit Submit after each candidate and then use the link to start another, if necessary.

Hopefully, these instructions will be helpful to you in participating in this important survey.  Please reply to this post with any questions you may have since others may have the same question.

    Thanks, ~Laurel
