The Tufts Combined Hand Surgery Fellowship has an unexpected opening for the 2026-2027 Academic Year (Starting on/about August 1, 2026).  Due to illness, we have an unanticipated opening for our ACGME-accredited Hand Surgery Fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Please see the information below for specific details on how to apply.

Our Hand / Upper Extremity fellowship is designed to educate prospective hand surgeons in all aspects of hand and upper extremity surgery. The fellowship is divided into four (4) three-month rotations, in which six months are spent at Tufts Medical Center and six months are spent at New England Baptist Hospital. At Tufts Medical Center, the Fellow receives individual teaching and supervision where the emphasis is on all aspects of reconstruction and trauma of the upper extremity, including arthroscopy and arthroplasty of the wrist, elbow, and shoulder, as well as congenital deformity and cerebral palsy. The Fellow attends the Columbia Microvascular Course. The fellow will also rotate at the New England Baptist Hospital, where the emphasis is on adult reconstruction and traumatic conditions of the hand and elbow. A fully-equipped bioskills laboratory is available. The applicant must be a Board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon, and the requirements for the fellowship are weekly hand conferences, monthly journal club attendance, weekly Grand Rounds, and preparation of a paper suitable for presentation and/or publication at the national level. This fellowship participates in the match program. This fellowship is ACGME accredited.

Interested candidates are welcome to reach out directly with a copy of their CV to Dr. Charles Cassidy (charles.cassidy1@tuftsmedicine.org, or charles.cassidy1@tuftsmedicine.org) Chairman and Fellowship Program Director.  Please copy Starla Pathak, Manager, Educational Programs, starla.pathak@tuftsmedicine.org .
