    Hi everyone,

I hope you all are enjoying or will enjoy your weekend!

One of the coordinators on the PD/PC panel mentioned they had a Right Hand Woman folder her residents had access to. I think it was Angelica Marquez. She would put things like a list of dates for them to be aware of in the upcoming academic year. What are other things that were put in that folder? What anyone else recommend including in that folder?

I like this idea so much, I’m adding a folder like that to our shared drives.

    Thank you!

    Honor

I think that was Angelica who presented this idea as a New Coordinator on the PD/PC Panel at CORD!

We use spreadsheets on Teams that can be edited by all the residents and me to keep in touch regarding the following for each academic year.

    • Flu shot date
    • QuantiFERON Gold (PPD)
    • Memberships and Numbers
    • Institutional “Education” requirement
    • Orientation requirements completed
    • Graduation requirements completed
    • License expirations
    • ATLS – BLS – ACLS expirations
    • Contracts
    • Required education completed
    • Courses and Conferences attended, dates, and locations
    • Yearly updated CV submitted
    • Research and presentations submitted
    • Car Information
    • ACGME Scholarly Activity

Interns submit names of faculty during their “general education” months via a shared spreadsheet so I know who to send a evaluation to for them.  We also have spreadsheets to communicate Morbidity/Mortality cases and Arthroscopy/Imaging cases for those conferences.

Now, do I have to remind them to update, yes, that happens.  But then I have the information available to me when I need it.  This is better for me than sending them long emails that they do not want to read!!  🙂  Sometimes I text a picture and ask them to update the spreadsheets.

This works out well for us but I would love to hear how, and about what, others communicate with Med Students, Residents, Fellows, and Faculty.

Also, shameless plug for the Post Conference Survey – we need to hear from you if you attended the Nashville Conference.  The link is on the Home Page.

    Blessings to all,

    ~Laurel
