Has anyone had a resident participate in an international away elective? I have a resident scheduled to go in December, and we’re trying to determine if we need to draft a letter to the ACGME. The FAQ’s said we have to notify the ACGME prior to the start of an international rotation, but the guidelines document says international rotation of one month or more. We’re trying to determine if the international rotation has to be one month in length or not to report, and what actually constitutes 1 month. He’s starting on a Monday and ending on a Friday, so it’s a couple days shy of exactly 4 weeks, but it’s 4 weeks of Monday-Friday.
