Our program has been having issues getting our university (they oversee it) to make changes to our website and to bring it up to date. My program director asked me to ask all of you who controls your website and who oversees the content (program director, program coordinator, or other staff). Is your website part of your institution or do you have an independent company that you work with. Our Emergency Medicine Program uses WIX, have any of you heard about it or do you use it? Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Suzanne

My PD and I design and control the full content of the website, but we get it approved and follow the marketing and design guidelines of the healthcare system we are employed by… Sometimes we have to make changes, because they do not align with their policies, but that is mostly design, font, color, etc related, not content related. We can have as many pages as we want, same with pictures, diagrams, logos, etc…
Here is our website
Hope this helps

Our website updates are managed by our Webmaster, who is a member of our Communications department and sometimes assisted by our IT department. I am the “content expert” for our department, so responsible for notifying the Webmaster of any updates or changes we want to make. I collaborate with our program director and department chair if we are making any significant changes. The Website team sends out an email each August requesting annual updates. Website design (font, color, page design, etc) is consistent across the organization and each residency has the same template of page options we can use. The Webmaster does have veto over any content that is not in compliance with the Communications policy for our institution.
Here is the address for our website: http://www.med.wmich.edu/node/109
Good luck with your campaign!

My PD and I manage the content of the website, but the changes are done by University Marketing. We simply fill out a webrequest stating what we want done. I assume that someone at Marketing “approves” the changes in some way, but they have always made the updates exactly as we requested. They take anywhere from 5 – 10 business days to make the changes though.
I make it habit to review the website at least every few weeks and look for things that need to be changed and things we can add. So, short answer, we control the content, but Marketing makes the changes. I hope that helps!
