Greeting ARCOS Members!
I hope you are all doing well! We are very much looking forward to meeting again and to seeing all of you in Chicago in March! I’m also pleased to announce that at that meeting, we will be electing three new members at large as well as a new President-Elect!
Current members-at-large, Melissa Gara and Jen Duane will be completing their terms with the March 2022 meeting. We extend a huge thank you to them for their years of dedication to the ARCOS Board. I will also be completing my term as Immediate Past President. As such, we are now seeking members to fill these positions.
· Member-at-Large (3 positions):
Will begin a five-year term at the conclusion of the March 2022 meeting.
· President-Elect (1 position):
Will begin a two-year term, leading to President (2 years) and Immediate Past President (2 years), at the conclusion of the March 2022 meeting. Note that the President-Elect must be current member of the ARCOS Board of Directors.
Board members are required to attend two (2) ARCOS plenary meetings per year, as well as the ARCOS Annual Meeting, for the duration of their 5-year term. The planning meetings are held at the AAOS headquarters in Rosemont, Illinois in May and September, and at the annual meeting during the AAOS meeting. Board Member expenses for these required meetings must be compensated by their program. ARCOS does not reimburse for these mandatory board meetings. In addition, attendance at virtual board meetings is required during the year to further the ongoing development and operations of ARCOS.
In order to be considered for the position, candidates must:
• Be a current member of ARCOS
• Have attended at least one ARCOS annual meeting
• Be a coordinator of an ACGME accredited residency or fellowship program
Those interested in running for these open positions should:
• Submit a letter of intent, current CV and photo
• Submit a letter of financial support from your PD or Chair to participate in both the plenary and annual meetings for the entirety of the term.
Add documents should be submitted via email to me at Julia.Panzo@osumc.edu
The deadline for the letter of intent and the financial support letter, CV, and photo is December 1, 2021. Voting will take place at the annual ARCOS Meeting in Chicago in March 2022. Each nominee will be asked to say a few words during the opening of the ARCOS annual meeting. The new board members will be announced on the final day of the meeting.
Serving on the ARCOS Board of Directors is a wonderful opportunity to get involved with an organization that has an impact on our responsibilities on a daily basis. We are sure that you would truly enjoy working with all of our wonderful board members. I am very happy to take your questions and to tell you more about this opportunity. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Sincerely,
Julia Panzo, C-TAGME
