Good afternoon-
Has anyone created a survey to send to their interview committee to find out what the virtual interview preferences are amongst the group? We need to know if our committee prefers doing interviews individually or in groups, prefers to interview 1 applicant at a time or in groups, how many hours per day they are available to interview, how many interviews per day, best time of day and so on! If anyone has already created a survey, I would love to see it if you are willing to share. Also, if you have figured out how to make this virtual interview season work without confusion…I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🙂
Thank you!July 14, 2020 at 10:24 am #2205Melissa GaraParticipantHi! Me again. I would love to hear how you are planning on conducting your interviews. Are you going to have the same number of attendings interviewing as you have in the past or are you going to make changes to your committee size for virtual interviews? Will you be interviewing the same number of candidates? Will you be doing group interviews? The thought of setting up 420 virtual interviews is kind of boggling my mind at the moment. Thank you.

I haven’t sent an official survey to my selection committee, but we have discussed it a lot! We are planning on having the committee block their schedule the same way they would for in person interview days. Our committee size will remain the same as will the number of students being interviewed. Typically, each candidate goes from room to room meeting the different members. The rooms generally have 2 faculty members. We do have to decide if the 2 faculty members will still sit in a room together, but then will need masks on, or if they will each join from their own office.
Interested in seeing how this interview season will unfold! -
