The John D. Vander Schilden, M.D. Visiting Medical Student Diversity Scholarship

Deadline: Applications must be submitted no later than March 31, 2020. Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than April 30, 2020.

Through the generosity of Jack Vander Schilden, M.D. orthopaedic sports medicine specialist in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UAMS, the department offers up to five scholarships to eligible fourth-year medical students to supplement the cost of travel and living in Little Rock during our one-month senior medical student elective rotation in orthopedic surgery. The department’s education committee will evaluate the applications and award up to five $1000 scholarships plus student housing when available per academic year to deserving medical students based on merit, scholarship, and need.

Students must apply to the orthopedic surgery elective and complete the online diversity scholarship application.
