Greetings ARCOS Members!
We are looking for a member to join us on the ARCOS Board of Directors!
The ARCOS Board of Directors has an immediate vacancy for a member-at-large. This new member-at-large will begin their term immediately upon voting by electronic ballot by current ARCOS membership. The term of this member will be five years and will expire at the conclusion of our annual meeting in 2025.
The ARCOS Board of Directors consists of 11 members, including the 5 officer positions of President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Secretary and Treasurer. Board members are required to attend two ARCOS plenary meetings per year, as well as the ARCOS annual meeting, for the duration of their term. The board meets during the AOA meeting in June, at AAOS headquarters in Rosemont in September, and at the annual meeting during the AAOS meeting. There are also a few conference calls during the year, especially leading up to the annual meeting.
In order to be considered for the position, candidates must:
• Be a current member of ARCOS
• Have attended at least one ARCOS annual meeting
• Be a coordinator of an ACGME accredited residency or fellowship programThose interested in running for this open position should:
• Submit a letter of intent, current CV and photo
• Submit a letter of financial support from your PD or Chair to participate in both the plenary and annual meetings for the 5-year termAs we are filling a vacated position, the turnaround time for this special election is approximately four weeks. The deadline for the letter of intent and the financial support letter, CV, and photo is October 9, 2019. Voting will take place by electronic ballot between October 14 and October 18. Provided the board receives at least one candidate and a quorum of voters, the new board member will be announced on Monday, October 21.
